7A Math— Students have begun their unit on Geometry. This unit has a significant number of vocabulary words that students will need to be able to identify, draw, describe and use in problems presented to them. Students have created a Quizlet to help them learn the vocabulary in this unit. Students should be practicing their vocabulary for 10-15 minutes per day so they are ready when the assessment comes.
7B Math— Students will finish their unit on Geometry with figures and their attributes. Students will understand how to identify and classify polygons. Students will need to practice using the correct vocabulary when describing figures.
Algebra-- Students will finish the concepts of Chapter 8 by demonstrating an understanding of factoring polynomials. Students will be shown several methods to find equivalent expressions. Students are not required to master all methods, just become familiar with them. Students should use whatever method makes sense to them and master that method. Students will end the week with the Chapter 8 assessment.
Eighth Grade Math- The next unit of study for the eighth graders is lines. Students will learn about slopes of lines, graphing lines, interpreting lines and their graphs, and solving systems of equations with graphs. Students will need rulers, graph paper and their iPads to be successful in this unit.
