Math News from Ms. Bozio:
I will be attending the annual Wisconsin Mathematics Council Conference on Thursday and Friday of next week. Please email if you need to contact me, I will have access to my email, but won’t be able to get phone messages or notes until I return on Monday.
The seventh and eighth grade math team will continue to practice for the Mega Math Meet.
Sixth Grade Math--The sixth graders will finish their unit on transformations next week. There will be a quiz on Wednesday on the material. On Friday, they will be introduced to the next unit. The next unit is Chapter 10 Functions.
7A--The seventh graders will finish the first Algebra unit next week. They will work with numbers, classifying them, computing them and learning about their properties. Students will take a calculator and non-calculator test on the concepts in chapter 1 on Friday.
7B Math-- The seventh graders are working their way through Chapter 11. Chapter 11 focuses on solving multi-step equations. Students will have to pay attention to detail and follow the process carefully to find the correct solutions. Students will need to practice so they become efficient with their work. There will be a quiz next week on the first part of the chapter.
Eighth Grade Math--The eighth graders will be working on scatter plots and linear functions. They will use their graphing and equation skills to be successful in this unit. Students will make predictions based on data and plots they create.
Algebra--We will finish the second half chapter 10 and take a test on Wednesday. Students can begin preparing for their final exam. They have been given notecards. There will be information on Chapters 7-12 on the final exam. The notecard can contain formulas, examples, pictures and any clues that the students feel necessary to be successful. It may be hand written or typed. It can include pictures. Any questions, just ask Ms. Bozio.
