**Sixth Grade Math-**Students will finish chapter four with a review of equivalent fractions, improper fractions, and ordering of rational numbers. As the winter break approaches, students might lose focus. Be sure to encourage your child to stay focused. The class has one more assessment to take next week before break. The assessment will be on Thursday.

**7A Math—**The class will finish this chapter with an assessment on Tuesday. We will then spend some quality time as role models. On Monday, we will help the 4K class with a holiday craft, on Wednesday we will work on careers with Ms. Wesolowski, on Thursday we will have math buddies with first grade and on Friday we will do some fun holiday math.

**7B Math--**Students have been working on problem solving skills this week. We are working on trying something even if we don’t think it will be right. Drawings, tables, charts and proportions have been strategies we have used when problem solving. Next week we will use those skills to solve problems involving proportional relationships. We will finish the chapter with an assessment on Thursday.

**Algebra--**Students will take the assessment on chapter 5 on Wednesday. We will start talking about and doing activities that will help in chapter 6. Students will need to be focused when they return from winter break. We will need to cover material from chapter 6 and 7 to have them prepared for the mid-term exam. The mid-term exam will take place on Thursday, January 18. Students should study and work on their notecard over the winter break.

**Eighth Grade Math-**The class will has finished the chapter on Geometry and Measurement. We will begin the week with a review of the chapter. Students will then take the assessment for the chapter on Wednesday, December 20. We will end the week with holiday math activities.
