The middle school teachers are putting together a weekly newsletter. I will be copying my portion of the newsletter to my webpage for additional viewing. Here is the week of February 1st.
It's a busy time of year for the math program. Students who have been practicing and have been selected based on classroom competition, will be competing in the regional Math 24 in February. All middle school students will also be taking a screening test to earn a spot on the Bulldog Math Team. The Math Team competes regionally in March. Students grade 5-8 will be participating in the online MathCON competition to earn a spot to compete in Chicago in spring. Top scoring students get to compete against students from all around the country. I encourage you to talk to your child about the opportunities being offered through our math program. Good luck to all!
7th Graders learned about probability by creating their own spinners and conducting experiments. A successful day of "doing" math!
Bo was determined to complete the wooden cube puzzle. Demonstrating perseverance, he was the first student to complete it this year. Great Job!
