I am looking forward to today with much anticipation! During the day my math students will compete in the first round of MathCon, an online math competition. If students perform well, they will be asked to participate in round 2 at the University of Chicago in April. Good Luck to all my students!

Here are a couple of things to keep note of...
PTO Box Tops Collection---There is a contest this month for box tops collection. The 6th graders won the last competition, so let's go for a repeat. Send all of your box tops to Ms. Bozio and we will feed our Box Top Bear's Belly! Pennies for Patients---Washington School is collecting money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Send your pennies and other change to school to fill the 6th grade collection box. Every penny counts! Midterm Reports will be sent home on Friday, February 20th Parent Teacher Conferences are the week of February 23rd Math 24 Meet is February 26th Mathcon Math Competition will be on Wednesday, February 25th Math Team practice and selection is taking place now through March 10th If you have any questions about any of these events, please email or call me. On Thursday, February 26th Washington Caldwell will be represented in the regional Math 24 Meet. It will take place at the Kenosha County building. Congratulations to the following students who earned a place on the Math 24 Team. 6th Graders: Max Deaton, Bo Draskovich and Zioe Kinjerski Alternate: Nick Werry 7th Graders: Jacob Lilla, Payton Peterson, and Katie Rohner Alternate: Ryan Fischer These students will be practicing at home until the tournament. Practice for the Math Meet in March has begun! 5 students from each grade 6, 7, & 8 are practicing to see who will represent Washington at the Math Meet. Stay tuned to see who the final 4 from each grade will be. |
