7A Math--We had a test on Friday, October 13th to finish out Chapter 2. Next week we will start math buddies. We will be working with Mrs. Borchardt’s first graders on developing number sense, reading and writing numbers and working well with others. The students will begin their unit on decimals and keep moving at an accelerated pace.
7B Math-- Converting, comparing, and ordering rational numbers is a focus. This group of wonderful students is learning how to correctly describe numbers and classify them. We will work on answering the “big questions” with correct vocabulary and explanations. We will finish the chapter and end the week with an Assessment.
Algebra--We concluded Chapter 2 and will be moving on to Chapter 3: Inequalities. In this chapter students will apply the processes and logic used for solving equations to inequalities. We will focus on application of skills to tasks. Our focus will continue to be changing our mindsets to reflect quality not quantity.
Eighth Grade Math-- Scientific Notation will be reviewed next week. Then students will learn new skills and processes that will enable them to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers with scientific notation. These skills are all new and will require practice. Please look for those notes to come home and be sure to observe your student studying these methods.
