When we return from break, we will continue our study of South America.
6th Math— Students completed chapter four. When we return we will take a break from number theory and work with geometry. Students will review coordinates and graphing. Once chapter nine is complete we will go back to number theory and fractions.
7th Math—students completed chapter four and will move on to chapter six when returning from break. Chapter six focuses on percent. Students will find percent of numbers, percent change, tax, discounts, and simple interest. Students will need a calculator to complete this unit successfully.
8th Math— students will begin their unit on graphing lines, equations and slope when we return from break. Students will need rulers, pencils and their iPads. We will use a free website called Desmos to create graphs and check the work we do by hand. Students will learn how the steepness of a line relates to the equation and how to use graphs to find missing information.
Algebra—Students will continue to work in chapter six when we return. Students will work to solve systems of equations and inequalities. Students will write linear equation systems from situations and then solve the systems. Students should be preparing for their semester exam. All students were given notecards to write out. They can use the note cards on the semester exam.
