Sixth Grade Social Studies
Students are continuing to study Europe. The focus has been on Greece and Italy this week. Students will move on to Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium. Students are learning about the physical geography, culture, language, government, economy and famous people of each country. Each week we will add new countries to our notes. These will be used to prepare for an assessment on Europe later in our unit of study.
Sixth Grade Math
Students will be working through the last sections of chapter one. Students have finished the chapter by practicing mathematical properties. We will review the concepts and vocabulary in chapter one and have a test on Wednesday. Students should use their study guide and other resources to prepare for their first test. Seventh Grade Math
Students have finished chapter one. We will review for the test by completing practice problems. Students should use the study guide and practice problems to help prepare for the test. The assessment will be on the concepts covered in chapter one. The assessment will be on Tuesday of next week. Once chapter one is complete students will begin chapter two which is a study of integers.
Eighth Grade Math
Students will begin their week with a computation test. Students will need to demonstrate their ability to use all operations with whole numbers, integers, fractions and decimals. Students need to complete practice problems to study for the test. On Wednesday, students will take the rest of the chapter one test. This portion of the test, the students will be allowed their calculator.
Algebra
Students will finish their work in chapter two. The work will include proportions, predictions, and conversions. Students will be given conversion units from US to Metric measurement, but should know how to convert within the same measurement system. Students will have their test on chapter two the following week.
