Math Buddies are in need of the Very Hungry Caterpillar book for an activity on Monday. If you have a copy that you would be willing to loan us for the day, please send it to school on Monday and have your student bring it to Ms. Bozio’s classroom.
I am looking forward to Parent-Teacher Conferences next week. If you have any questions about math grades, please come to conferences. Your student and their math notebook/folder will be helpful in answering your questions. Please bring them along to the conference too. See you next week!
Sixth Grade Math- Students will continue working with ratios and rates. We will discuss how to determine “better buys”, practice division and use stations to build our skills while having fun.
7A Math— Students will have math buddies on Monday, where they will work with the first graders on an activity that goes with the Very Hungry Caterpillar book. The students will help the first graders write addition equations and practice adding. Then they will return to the classroom on Tuesday for a review of the Geometry they have been learning. They will end their week with a Geometry quiz on Wednesday.
7B Math— Student will only have 2 classes next week due to the Spelling Bee and teacher in-service. During those two days, students will review for their Geometry test that will take place the week of February 26, 2018. We will review using Kahoot, stations and practice problems.
Algebra-- Students have finished the learning the concepts of Chapter 8. On Monday, we will review for the test and on Tuesday the students will take the Chapter 8 test. It is important the students recognize problem types so they can efficiently solve them. Not knowing how to even get started will make the test difficult to finish. Students have notes and graphic organizers to help them study. Students need to work efficiently and accurately to be successful on this test.
Eighth Grade Math- During the short week next week, the students will be focused on slopes of lines, equations of lines and graphing lines. Students will be making connections between each of these things. Once students see the connection between concepts, the material will be easy to master. Students need to be ready to take notes and use technology to be successful.
