Sixth Grade Math— The sixth grade class will continue their work in chapter four. We will be converting and comparing rational numbers. Student will have benchmark measurements that they will be required to memorize. These benchmark measurements will help students in future mathematics learning. Please encourage students to put in daily practice with these measurements.
Seventh Grade Math— Seventh grade will continue to work through chapter four. Students will work with similar figures. They should develop an understanding of vocabulary and learn to use the vocabulary in written explanations of their work. Students will apply the idea of similar figures to situations given to them. They will draw and label pictures, set up proportions and solve the problems using the skills from the chapter. They will have a test on chapter four on Thursday, December 13th.
Eighth Grade Math-- Eighth grade will start their week reviewing for a test on chapter four. Students will have the test on Tuesday, December 11th. They will then begin chapter seven. Chapter seven focuses on equations. Students have done some work with equations, but they will work with multi-step equations and systems of equations in this chapter. It will be important that students take good notes, practice procedures and be attentive to details. I am always available for extra help if students need it.
Algebra-- Students will begin their week reviewing for a test on chapter 5. Students will take the test on Tuesday, December 11th. The class will then begin chapter six which focuses on inequalities. Students will be graphing, solving and interpreting inequalities in this chapter.
