Sixth Grade Math- Students will finish the unit on proportions and percent with a test on Tuesday. Students will need to know their benchmark fraction conversions from memory. They will be allowed a calculator for the other sections of the test. Students should use the study guide/checklist they were given to know what kind of problems to practice for the test. Students should see me on Monday if they have any questions.
7A Math— Student will continue working through the unit on probability this week. Students will make predictions, find probability of compound events, and figure out permutations and combinations. Students are allowed a calculator for this unit. Student will be using the mathematical practices of perseverance and constructing viable arguments in this unit.
7B Math— Students will practice solving multi-step equations and prepare for their equation assessment. Student will need to be able to solve a variety of equation. Students will be using the mathematical practice of attending to precision to be successful. Students will have their equations test on Friday.
Algebra-- This week students will have a quiz on chapter 9 on Tuesday, March 13th. Then we will finish chapter 9 by the end of the week. The chapter 9 test will be on Wednesday of the following week. Students should be practicing ways to solve quadratic equations. Students will need to demonstrate an understanding of the all of the methods and be able to choose which way is the most efficient way to solve the problem.
Eighth Grade Math- Students will focus on reviewing the concepts taught in Chapter 8. Students were given a study guide-checklist to help them prepare. Each topic on the test is listed. Students should work through examples of each type of problem to make sure they understand what is expected and what processes are needed to demonstrate an understanding of the material. Students need rulers for graphing for the review and the test. The test will be on Tuesday, March 19th.
