The top students from each grade are now practicing during Bulldog Time. Of those students practicing, three students will complete in the tournament in February. There will be a final competition the week we return from winter break. Students who are truly interested in making it to the competition team should practice and prepare over winter break.
In January I will be looking to select students to practice for several of the math competitions we will be participating in. Students will be given a placement test. Top scoring students will practice in January and February to compete. Here are some websites that have practice tests and problems for those who want to prepare and have made it their goal to be a Mathlete.

Algebra--Students should begin preparing for their semester exam. The exam is cumulative covering chapters 1-6. They have already learned 5.5 of the 7 chapters, so they should start preparing. Students should begin preparing their notecard over break. The notecards can have examples, formulas, steps to processes, vocabulary and anything that the student might want to reference for the exam. It needs to be hand written (student’s writing please) or typed and taped to the notecard. Enjoy the Holiday Break!
Eighth Grade Math-- Ended the last chapter with an assessment and enjoyed a game of winter BINGO. There is no homework over the Holiday Break! Enjoy!
